At Pilot House, we have always done coffee a bit differently.

It all began about 5 years ago with a popcorn popper Robby Jones, our founder, bought at Walmart. Having recently developed a new passion for coffee, he was curious to see if he could perfect his own roasts. After a year of exploring different techniques, he grabbed a friend and built a 5 lb. drum roaster in his garage. All this for a good cup of Joe!

Within a couple years, Robby, who soon became known as "The Coffee Guy," had perfected the roasting process and developed his own special technique.

Everyone who tried Robby's coffee loved it. Soon word spread about how delicious his coffee was and before he knew it, Robby started getting phone calls from strangers and friends alike asking if they could start buying his coffee. One thing led to another and soon he was delivering his freshly roasted coffee door to door all around down town Austin.

Now, as Pilot House grows, Robby can share his passion as he roasts and delivers fine Pilot House Coffee all over Austin.
